3 SUB-JR GIRL BOXERS TO BRING HOME MEDALS AFTER SECURING BERTH IN SEMIS

On Saturday, three boxers won their respective Quarter Finals of the 3rd Sub Junior National Boxing Championships being held in Noida, UP.

Suman Patil from Goa, won against the neighbouring Karnataka’s Priya in a well fought bout to win 5:0. Mamta Raut too, played an aggressive bout in all three rounds to manage a clean victory of 5:0 against Ayushi from Jharkand. Laxmi Lamani was impressive as she was declared winner after RSC in the first round against Manyata from Sikkim.

The lone boy, Veer Rana unfortunately suffered defeat against Lakshya from Himachal Pradesh. We now have three girls who will battle it out today in the Semi Finals, but are now assured of a medal each.

Mamta Raut said, “I am happy to be playing at my first nationals. I want to win a gold medal. The other two girls are also happy.”

Goa has sent 9 boxers, 7 girls and 2 boys accompanied by SAI Coach Arif Uddin and assistant Sameer Kenchikera.
