IMD PREDICTS THUNDERSTORM & GUSTY WINDS

Thunderstorm and rain accompanied with lightning and gusty winds reaching to 30-40 kmph very likely to affect at a few places across Goa during the next 3-4 hours, stated a forecast by IMD.

A yellow alert has been issued by IMD in view of this. At 2.30 pm, clouds were seen approaching the talukas of Sattari, Bicholim, Dharbandora, Sanguem, etc. More talukas are likely to get affected since the clouds are generally moving towards southwest direction, the release further added.

“Avoid working in open areas and fields while thunderstorms are taking place. Avoid taking shelter under tall trees and structures when thunderstorm is taking place. Stay away from electric poles and weak structures when lightning and gusty winds are there. Avoid using electrical appliances,” the release advised
