CM Sawant says the govt will regularise all houses under the ‘Mhaje Ghar’ scheme located in settlement zones as per Regional Plan 2021, irrespective of any zone change after February 2014. Houses built before 1972 on settlement land but currently falling under No Development Area (NDA) will be removed from the NDA. Sawant was responding to concerns raised by GFP MLA Vijai Sardesai over sudden zone changes affecting eligible applicants. • Unauthorized residential structures in coastal/CRZ areas existing prior to 1991 will be considered for regularisation under the Mhaje Ghar Scheme. However, structures located in No Development Zones (NDZ) will not be covered, said Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate. • Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar says there was “unnecessary chaos” in the Goa Assembly over electricity charges, asserting that Goa’s power tariffs are among the lowest compared to other states and UTs. He said JERC is the final authority on tariff decisions and the government has no say before the regulator. • Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Goa will not compromise on the Mhadei River diversion issue and will not allow environmental clearance for the Kalasa-Banduri Project. Sawant, along with WRD officials, will meet PRAWAH to discuss the Mhadei issue and Goa’s concerns. • CM Pramod Sawant says the government will soon announce the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme, with existing vacant Goa Housing Board plots to be provided to eligible Niz Goemkar applicants in the first phase. • Goa Govt appoints Mamlatdars as nodal officers for implementation of the Mhaje Ghar scheme. We will ensure the process is streamlined and maximum applications are cleared at the earliest.
