All four teachers and two tour operators booked in connection with the Sattari drowning case have been granted bail, as the offences registered against them are bailable. They face charges related to alleged illegal entry into a wildlife area, endangering students’ safety and causing death due to negligence.  •  The High Court has granted two weeks to Dr. Medha Salkar and the Goa government to file replies in the petition challenging the state government's decision to give Dr. Salkar additional charge as Director of Health Services. Manuel Jesus Vaz alias Manu of Sinqetim, Navelim, and Minguel of Acona, Benaulim, have been booked under Sections 11(1)(m) and 11(1)(n) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, for allegedly making bulls fight for public entertainment.  •  A Karnataka-registered car met with an accident near Tambosem Bridge after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The driver sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment. Unknown accused allegedly used keys kept on the front window to open the house at Mangoor Hill between 8 am and 10 am on July 31 and stole gold and silver ornaments along with mobile phones worth approximately Rs10.14 lakh.  •  Speaking at UTAA’s World Tribal Day programme, Shravani Govind Gaude daughter of MLA Govind Gaude has urged Goa’s tribal youth, especially Gen Z, to question the govt and demand implementation of ST political reservation. She said the Aug 2026 Gazette notification was a crucial step, but the process must now translate into actual reservation. "We Want a Concrete Outcome, Not Just Assurances” she said  •  A trainer aircraft operated by a private company crash-landed at Baramati Airport; aircraft came down within the airport complex, close to the runway. No casualties were reported, and the aircraft suffered minor damage. The incident comes about seven months after the fatal crash that claimed the life of then Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and four others near the same airport.
