Eighteen-year-old Shruthi L from Coimbatore is making waves in Indian cue sports, emerging as one of the country’s most promising young talents with impressive achievements at both national and international levels.

Taking up cue sports in June 2021, Shruthi’s rapid rise in billiards and snooker has been marked by discipline, consistency, and exceptional skill, earning her recognition on the global stage within a short span of time.

She first gained international attention through her performances at the World Women’s Billiards Championship held in Walsall, United Kingdom, where she represented India in 2024 and 2025. Her standout achievement came in 2025 when she won the prestigious English Open Challenge Cup in Walsall.

Shruthi further strengthened her international presence by competing in the World Women’s Snooker Championship and the Asian Women’s Snooker Championship in Doha in 2025. She also participated in the Junior Girls Hey Ball Championship in Australia, adding to her global experience.

At the national level, she has secured multiple gold medals across junior and sub-junior categories, including Junior Girls Snooker (2025–26) and Sub-Junior Girls Billiards (2024–25). She has also earned several silver and bronze medals in both billiards and snooker categories, showcasing her versatility and consistency.

At the state level, Shruthi has dominated the circuit with 13 gold medals, along with six silver and four bronze medals, underlining her strong foundation in the sport.

Her journey from a beginner in 2021 to an international competitor has inspired many young athletes, particularly girls, to pursue cue sports professionally. With her growing experience and determination, Shruthi is seen as one of India’s rising hopes in billiards and snooker.

As she continues to compete at higher levels, expectations are high that the young cue star will soon bring further international glory to India.
