South Goa will witness a widespread power outage on Sunday, April 12, due to the annual maintenance shutdown of 220KV and 110KV substations. The electricity supply will remain suspended from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM across Salcete, Canacona, Sanguem, Quepem, Mormugao, and parts of Dharbandora and Ponda.

However, certain areas including Raia, Curtorim, Loutolim, and Macazana have been exempted from the shutdown, authorities said. Meanwhile, in Panaji, a separate power shutdown has been scheduled on April 8 for maintenance work on the 400 KVA New Secretariat Transformer.

The outage will be in effect from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Areas likely to be impacted in the capital city include the vicinity of the Old Secretariat, Hotel Crown, Pakiza Restaurant, Hotel Vinanti, the Office of Commercial Taxes, and adjoining localities.
