Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has emphasized the need to establish a museum dedicated to the history of the Goa Inquisition to raise public awareness about this significant historical period. Highlighting a key historic event from 1928, Hosabale recalled how Masurkar Maharaj led the reconversion of 7,815 individuals back to Hinduism through a shuddhikaran ceremony. He urged for the urgent preservation and protection of the site in Chimbel, which stands as a historical witness to this major event.

In response to these calls for preserving the region's historical heritage, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that the government shares the vision of creating a historical museum. He informed that official efforts are already underway to digitize historical documents from the Inquisition era, ensuring these records are systematically preserved for future generations and research.
