The long-awaited restoration of the historic Chapora Fort has finally begun, with the project estimated to cost ₹4.61 crore.

The restoration work is being taken up to preserve the iconic fort and improve its overall condition. According to MLA Dileila Lobo, the work is progressing at a steady pace and is expected to be completed by December.

The Chapora Fort, one of Goa’s well-known heritage landmarks, attracts tourists throughout the year and offers panoramic views of the surrounding coastline.

With restoration work now underway, attention is focused on ensuring that the historic structure is preserved while making the site safer and more accessible for visitors.

The ₹4.61-crore project is expected to give a fresh lease of life to the iconic landmark and strengthen efforts to preserve Goa’s heritage for future generations.
