Work on the six-lane Porvorim elevated corridor can continue without closing roads during the day, Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said after an on-site inspection. He suggested that construction work be carried out between 9 pm and 5 am to keep the roads open for commuters.

Heavy vehicles are being diverted from Karaswada, and Khaunte has requested the National and State Highways authorities to clear service roads immediately to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

The inspection, held at the starting point of the ODP Road opposite the Mahindra Showroom, was attended by Khaunte, Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza, North Goa Collector, and other government officials. The review aimed to assess project progress and ensure that the corridor’s construction aligns with timelines and safety standards.
