Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra did not oppose the grant of transit remand by a Delhi court, paving the way for their transfer to Goa by the Goa Police on Wednesday. Their counsel, however, made it clear before the court that the accused have reserved their right to challenge the legality of their arrest, the applicability of the provisions invoked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and to seek bail before the competent court in Goa.
The Delhi court subsequently granted a two-day transit remand, allowing the Goa Police to take custody of the brothers and transport them to Goa. The police team is expected to reach Goa by tomorrow morning.
While granting the remand, the court also issued directions to ensure the well-being of the accused during transit. It ordered medical examinations within 12 hours and again upon their production in Goa, permitted the supply of basic necessities including clothes, spectacles and slippers from family members, and directed that essential prescribed medicines be provided. The court further ensured that the accused be given access to their lawyers and legal consultation, if required
