Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress leader’s 10-minute walk in Goa would have no impact on the state. He questioned why Gandhi had not spoken about the work done by his government for Goa before making allegations against the state.

Highlighting Goa’s development, Sawant said leaders from outside the state visit to study the Swayampurna Goa model. He cited Goa’s two airports and Mormugao Port as examples of the state’s progress.

Sawant also criticised Gandhi over the Kunbi shawl controversy, alleging that the traditional attire had been insulted. Contrasting Gandhi’s alleged handling of the shawl with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gesture, Sawant said Modi had worn the Kunbi shawl throughout the programme.

The Chief Minister asserted that Goans would not forget the incident and urged Gandhi to think ten times before making what he termed baseless allegations against Goa.
