Protesters submit memorandum to Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation over the 12-year delay in the Mhadei-Kalasa Banduri project. They demand an account of water cess collected from farmers and warn of a round-the-clock sit-in until the issue is resolved and Central Government clearance is secured. • The High Court has directed the South Goa SP and the Bogda Vasco Police Inspector to provide adequate police personnel to the Mormugao Port Authority on Wednesday morning to secure the land by fencing the area where the illegal shed, popularly known as “Murgao Cha Raja,” has been demolished. The matter has been listed for Thursday for compliance. • Goa Police’s Anti-Narcotic Cell arrested two Bihar natives, Rahul Kumar (28) and Amit Kumar (31), and seized 7.187 kg of suspected Ganja worth Rs 7.18 lakh during a raid at KTC Bus Stand, Ponda. Case registered under the NDPS Act. • Following an email claiming that a bomb had been planted at the High Court, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Fire Department rushed to the premises. IMD Goa issues yellow alert for November 2, 3 and 4, warning of isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph across North Goa, South Goa and Kushavati districts. Light rainfall and thundershowers are also likely on November 5. • Mardol Police apprehend Mohammad Imran from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in a cyber fraud case involving Rs 3.09 lakh. The accused allegedly cheated a 45-year-old Kundai resident by promising to redeem credit card reward points. Police recovered a mobile phone worth Rs 65,000, allegedly purchased using the cheated money. He has been remanded to five days of police custody. • A bus stop at Karaswada, Mapusa, collapsed following unseasonal rainfall late last night. The shelter was regularly used by local residents and workers commuting to the nearby industrial estate. • An ITI student sustained serious injuries after his vehicle rammed into a parked container at Keryan-Khandaepar.
