After days of discussion between the Dudhsagar Tour Operators Association, Collem, GTDC officials, and the Forest Department, the forest gate to Dudhsagar Waterfalls has finally been reopened for jeep tours.
Members of the association expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, BJP President Vinay Tendulkar, and Damu Naik for their support in resolving the issue and ensuring smooth resumption of tourist trips to the popular waterfall.
However, the association has now called on authorities to allow offline registration for jeeps, opposing the current online booking system. Operators argued that the existing online process leads to frequent technical glitches, poor internet connectivity, and delays that directly impact the income of local drivers who rely heavily on tourism.
They said reverting to the earlier offline registration system would make the process simpler, faster, and more accessible for all stakeholders, particularly those operating in remote forest areas with limited connectivity.
