Farmers and residents of Bellem-Velsao have strongly objected to proposed mega projects in neighbouring Sancoale, raising concerns over environmental damage and the future of their agrarian livelihoods.

Locals alleged that agricultural fields in the area are already being affected by sewage water, making cultivation increasingly difficult. They fear that large-scale development projects will further worsen the situation, potentially destroying fertile land and disrupting the ecological balance of the village.

The residents have urged the Sancoale Panchayat not to grant any permissions to such mega projects, stressing the need to protect traditional farming and safeguard the local environment. They also cautioned that if approvals are issued—either by the current Administrator or the newly elected Panchayat body—they will be compelled to launch mass agitations.

Calling for immediate attention to the sewage issue, villagers demanded sustainable solutions and greater accountability from authorities before any development is allowed in the region.
