Goa government has informed the High Court that some wards of Pissurlem village will start getting regular tap water within this week.

The government also contended that officials of the Water Resource Department along with villagers have inspected the Pissurlem village to find out the root cause of the ongoing water crisis. But, it needs some time to file a detailed report. Granting time to file report, the High Court adjourned the hearing for 25 April.

 Social Activist Hanumant Parab has filed a Public Interest Litigation before the High Court pleading to direct the authorities to set up a water treatment plant in Pissurlem village.

The petitioner has also pleaded to supply the water by tankers until the permanent solution is not been done. During the Hearing on Wednesday, Goa government has informed the High Court that few 'wada' of Pissurlem village will start getting regular tap water by 10 April.

The pipeline work is in progress. Officials of Water Resource Department along with villagers have inspected the Pissurlem village, but need some time to file detailed report. Goa government also stated that meanwhile water is being provided by both the government authorities and some mining companies. But, petitioner contradicted that all tanker water is not drinkable water. Directing Goa government to solve water problem as soon as possible, the High Court adjourned the hearing for 25 April.
