Goa will soon have two district hospitals under the Ministry of AYUSH, with facilities planned at Moti Dongor in Margao and Velguem, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state's healthcare initiatives, stating that free dialysis centres have been established at 16 locations across Goa to improve access to treatment.
Responding to criticism of Goa's healthcare infrastructure, Sawant said those questioning the state's medical facilities should first examine the healthcare services available in neighbouring states.
He further announced that the nursing college would be shifted to the Hospicio facility in Ponda, allowing the entire district hospital building to be made available for public use.
The proposed AYUSH hospitals are expected to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the state, while the free dialysis centres aim to make essential treatment more accessible to patients.
