Cargo operations at Goa's Dabolim International Airport faced severe disruptions following extended technical failures of its X-ray scanners across both domestic and international terminals. According to sources, the non-functional scanners stalled cargo clearances, leaving significant volumes of freight stranded, causing widespread inconvenience to traders, and resulting in substantial revenue losses for the airport authority. To mitigate the crisis and maintain the regional supply chain, approximately four tonnes of cargo were rerouted from Dabolim to Manohar International Airport (Mopa).

Equipped with four dual-view X-ray machines, bonded warehousing options, and extensive apron space to accommodate major freighter aircraft, Mopa swiftly managed the influx of diverted freight. To ensure uninterrupted cargo movement across Goa, GMR Aero Cargo & Logistics has already processed over three tonnes of the diverted shipments using its dedicated Road Feeder Service (RFS) vehicles.
