Mandrem PS cracked a temple theft case, wherein Rs 40,000 was stolen from the donation box of Shree Ajoba Devasthan, Keri. Acting on intelligence, police apprehended Ramprakash Babulal (19), r/o Uttar Pradesh, who confessed to the offence. He has been arrested and efforts are on to recover the stolen amount. • The Goa Forest Department has reopened the Dudhsagar Circuit for authorised vehicles with valid permits, effective immediately for the 2026–27 post-monsoon season. Entry is permitted from 8 AM to 3 PM, with a daily cap of 240 trips. Private vehicles and two-wheelers are prohibited, and life jackets are mandatory at the falls. Bookings must be made through the GTDC-authorised online portal. • The Panaji Children’s Court has granted conditional bail to a 27-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a minor, observing that the victim and key material witnesses have already been examined and prolonged pre-trial custody would serve no further purpose. The accused, a native of Uttar Pradesh residing in Mapusa, was booked by the Mapusa Police for kidnapping rape of a girl under 16 years of age and criminal conspiracy along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and the Goa Children’s Act. • The North Goa Special Fast Track Court has ordered the framing of charges against 22-year-old Pushpender Rathi for rape and cheating. Rathi, an established boxer from Faridabad, Haryana, allegedly sexually assaulted a medical student on the false pretext of marriage and also cheated her financially • A reporter was allegedly assaulted by a tout at Baga. A complaint was filed at Calangute Police Station, following which police took the alleged tout into custody. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte says the Tourism Department has written to Goa Police to act against those involved. The department has also directed police to take strict action to curb the tout menace and ensure public safety.
