We are truly living in a dystopian world in Goa.
Nothing makes sense.
Nothing adds up.
Nothing is what it seems.
But you can sense a deceitful, savage plan in place to hoodwink, blindside and eventually decimate Goa.
So here's my litany of all that simply makes no freaking sense whatsoever.
😉 The monsoon is simply refusing to let up.
We have witnessed the relentless pounding and drenching of Goa’s sorrows—but never its sins—washed deep into September.
And as the monsoons continue unabated, “good and wondrous governance” has shone brightly through.
Pot-holed roads, traffic accidents and we scarcely blink at all the tragedies.
Dengue, Malaria, Pneumonia, and now Cholera.
Where in the dickens can you get a cholera epidemic, especially in a first world country like Goa??
A remarkable achievement.
And I believed Goa was famous only for a diarrhea of words and stupid ideas.
😉 The TCP department is clearly on Mission Obliteration.
Hills are cutting themselves.
Ponds and Lakes mysteriously disappear.
The new Green is Brown and you better accept it or else you are anti-national (saffron has gone out of style).
Planning is only about conversions, the biggest in the history of Goa, since Saint Francis Xavier.
And Visrane, with all his contorted, contrived and concocted explanations has to own this Ball.
It's his!
It's in his goalkeeper area.
And there are absolutely no convincing explanations from Him.
Of course, his detractors, led by the ever-smiling Pramod Sawant, are smelling blood , with popular anger directed against Visrane—and are preparing the Roast Party for him shortly.
Not that Sawant or many of the legislators across the spectrum are little angels of mercy.
They are all in at this hara-kiri event and equally active participants.
But here's the catch!!
This time the rage against Dumping Devious Delhi Daredevils is happening in the BJP bastions
Pernem, Mandrem, Bicholim, Sanguem.
There are spontaneous uprisings and genuine action to put up the good fight at these gross violations of Land.
And the BJP spin doctors are at their wits ends trying to explain this.
There is no Church, Urban Naxals, coastal-belt Activists, Jihadis, Chinese, or any other usual suspects to pin the blame on.
You now need to explain to your own vote bank how you are going to fix the problem that is submerging them.

Worse, the central leadership is watching this brazen level of corruption, and they do not like it one bit.
Someone will have to be made the Fall Guy in the Fall (Autumn actually, which is now).

I asked many of my friends and relatives who have emigrated to the US whether they ate dogs, cats, and neighbors pets when they first went there.
They all sent me a smile emoji.
That's it.
So not sure whether they did or not!!
But the bigger point is this.
American democracy works like this.
Hilary Clinton given a chance in 16.
She blows it with a nudge from of FBI director James Comey.
She doesn't get another shot at the race.
Biden descends into GA-GA land and he's carefully shown the door, even if he would never find that door by himself.
And they conjure up a Harris who hits the ball straight out of the park.
Whereas we in India, despite repeated failures, serve up the same old tired play-book
Rahul Gandhi.
I care a damn if he's a nice guy or not.
But the man is so smug.
He just sanctimoniously lectures us.
On his recent US trip, he bashes the RSS for being anti- woman but won't dare say a word against the Islamic clergy here who lock their women in burqas and the like.
He says daftly that Sikhs will not be allowed to wear their turbans and plays straight into the hands of that disgraceful Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
Sure, showcase the plight of the ordinary minority individual who is targeted by Hindutva rowdies.
But on a philosophical level, if you are taking on ideologies, then take on all illiberal ideologies, even if it is politically inconvenient.
😉 And finally, as in Waiting for Godot, the whole of Goa is waiting for Manoj (Parab)
Kaim assa re tum??
A voice that has gone silent and depressingly so.
2027 is not too far.
We will continue to recycle the same old mercenaries.
We will be fighting the same redundant Konkani script battle.
We will have activists who will not take up political positions because it will dilute their virginal purity.
We will of course mouth that infernal platitude "Save Goa" ad nauseum.
But we will not,
We will never ever encourage, finance, or back new political talent to take centrestage.
We will trample those folk.
Viriato was a breath of fresh air—but can that be replicated or not??
Only Time will Tell!!
But as everyone will tell you: the one currency that Goa simply does not have is TIME!!
That is surely running out.
