The Goa State Election Commission has notified the delimitation of wards for the ensuing general elections to 11 Municipal Councils, including Mormugao, Margao, Mapusa, Curchorem-Cacora, Bicholim, Cuncolim, Quepem, Canacona, Valpoi, Pernem and Sanguem. • Gerson Gomes, through Adv. Ohm Stanley, has filed an intervention petition before the District Court, Margao, in the anticipatory bail matter. Gomes will oppose the Malcolm Pereira plea for anticipatory bail. • Cuncolim Police have seized the mobile phone of Malcolm Pereira in connection with the alleged assault of Chinchinim-Deussa Sarpanch Gerson Gomes at the village panchayat office. Mapusa JMFC Court has remanded Mapusa Municipal Councillor Tarak Arolkar to 13 days of judicial custody in connection with an alleged ₹40 lakh property fraud case.
Arolkar was arrested by the Crime Branch following allegations of fraud and forgery. The court subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.
