A Crime Branch Police Inspector who was associated with Goa Police's prestigious President's Colours honour, presented by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is now facing serious allegations, with Old Goa Police registering an FIR against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The accused officer, PI Vikas Deykar, and another accused, Ranjini Palyekar, have been booked in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl.

According to the police, the alleged incidents took place at the Crime Branch premises in Ribandar on July 25 and October 27, 2026. Deykar is accused of sexually assaulting the minor on both occasions, while Palyekar allegedly facilitated the incidents.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 75, 127, 49 and 61(2)(a), read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Sections 10 and 12 of the POCSO Act.

The case has drawn attention as Deykar had represented the Goa Police force during the ceremony in September 2026, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the prestigious President's Colour to Goa Police.

Goa DGP Alok Kumar has stated that legal and departmental action has already been initiated against the police inspector.
