Panaji Police have reportedly identified the woman who allegedly raised the slogan “Hinduvad Murdabad” during a protest organised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and associated activists in Panaji on October 11, 2026. She has reportedly been issued a notice directing her to appear at the police station.

Police have also registered a case against around 300 unidentified people over alleged communal slogans raised during the demonstration, which called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over concerns surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The FIR was registered following a complaint by Ramprasad Kelkar, a resident of Taleigao, who alleged that certain protesters raised slogans targeting Hindutva and hurting Hindu religious sentiments.
