Child death: Father lodges complaint of medical negligence

Father of a toddler from Priol, who died at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Ponda a little over two weeks ago, filed a police complaint, alleging that medical negligence by doctors led to his daughter’s death.

The complaint was filed after the father collected several documents from the hospital concerning his daughter’s treatment under the provisions of the Professional Conduct Etiquette and Ethics Regulation 2002.

The father contended that the absence of a child specialist the previous night, when his daughter was initially examined at the hospital, caused her condition to deteriorate.
