Oman Air is set to bring back its Muscat-Bengaluru service from September 25, but there is still no indication of an immediate restart for its Goa-Mopa route.
The Bengaluru service will operate four times a week until October 25, before increasing to nine weekly flights during the winter schedule. In contrast, Goa-Mopa continues to remain absent from the airline’s current schedule.
The continued suspension means passengers travelling between Goa and Muscat will have to use connecting services instead of a direct flight. The development is particularly significant for the large Goan community based in Oman, which has traditionally relied on direct air connectivity.
Oman Air had originally connected Muscat with Dabolim Airport before shifting its Goa operations to Manohar International Airport, Mopa, in October 2023. The move marked the airline as the first foreign carrier to operate from Mopa.
The Muscat-Mopa sector had earlier operated at a frequency of up to four flights per week, providing a direct link between Goa and Oman.
With the route now suspended, there is currently no confirmed date for Oman Air’s return to Mopa. The airline’s Hyderabad operation also remains suspended, while no winter bookings are currently showing for Kozhikode.
