These are the top stories for today's Konkani Prime Bulletin:- 1- The Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class Court has reserved the order on the bail application of accused Kukesh Rauta for Thursday (12th December). Kukesh Rauta's Counsel has contended that the bail should be granted on the ground that Supreme Court guidelines to serve the accused 41(A) CrPC notice have been violated by the investigation officer. Earlier, Mapusa JMFC Court had dismissed the intervention application filed by an Aldona voter pleading to intervene in the bail application of accused Kukesh Rauta. 2-The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has asked Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to reduce the GST on all hotel bookings to 12%. GCCI wrote to the finance minister and also said that restaurants should be given the option to choose between 5% GST without input tax credit or 12% GST with input tax credit. 3-Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo along Anjuna PI Suraj Gawas raid shops in Anjuna- Vagator area for allegedly selling e-cigarette, vape, hukkah & other illegal tobacco products; shops selling such products without any proper permissions, requested Dy Collector to shut down such shops: Lobo 4- Panaji police is investigating the Bhatlem labourer John murder case and have revealed that accused Arvind Tiwari is a cold-blooded criminal with a history of crimes. During the interrogation, accused Arvind confessed that he along with his co-accused friends in 2015 had murdered one businessman namely Gautam Banerjee at Gomatinagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Arvind has also confessed that he is also involved in some other assault cases in Uttar Pradesh. Arvind was granted bail in Gautam Banerjee murder case in 2018 and since then he has not attended any trial. Arvind has further confessed that he committed a crime with a well-made plan, which he has learnt from watching 100 crime shows on TV and he knows how to evade arrest. He has said that he has no regret for any crime. Arvind had come to Goa on 3 November this year and since then he has been working as a labourer at Bhatlem site, where the contractor had promised him a daily wage of 800 rupees. But on the day of the murder, the contractor paid him a wage of only 600 rupees per day for 27 days and hence he was angry, Victim John due to some silly reason abused him and he got angry, took the knife and slashed his neck. Panaji police are further scanning his past crime records. 5- Goa government’s plan to redevelop the State’s sugar factory -- Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana as an ethanol manufacturing facility under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, has hit a roadblock. Although the government invited Request for Qualification (RFQ) bids, no bidder has shown any interest. The government will consider any bids which might come within the next 15 days. Sources have said that if there is no bidder, the government might consider shifting workers from Sanjivani to somewhere else. 6- BJP Councillors of Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) have expressed their shock after 9 members filed a no-confidence motion against Chairperson Kundan Falari. Speaking to media, BJP Councillors have said that they will support whatever the party decides. Reacting to the no-confidence motion against him, Falari – who completed almost four years as BMC chairperson – said he had tried to work selflessly for the betterment of Bicholim town by taking everyone into confidence.
