A Karnataka-registered car met with an accident near Tambosem Bridge after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The driver sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment. "We Want a Concrete Outcome, Not Just Assurances” she said  •  A trainer aircraft operated by a private company crash-landed at Baramati Airport; aircraft came down within the airport complex, close to the runway. No casualties were reported, and the aircraft suffered minor damage. The incident comes about seven months after the fatal crash that claimed the life of then Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and four others near the same airport.  •  The Centre has urged the SC to refer the Pennaiyar river water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to the existing Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal instead of constituting a new tribunal; SC has sought responses from both states and granted them two weeks to respond. The Centre says using the existing tribunal would avoid delays, reduce costs and make better use of existing judicial and administrative resources.  •  Vasco Police arrested 21-year-old Gomsy Swami of Shantinagar and seized 1.05 kg of suspected ganja worth around Rs 1.05 lakh during a late-night operation; Police said Swami allegedly tried to flee after noticing the police team but was detained, and a subsequent search led to the recovery of the suspected contraband, allegedly meant for delivery to a customer.  •  A boy sustained injuries after a dog allegedly escaped through an open compound gate and attacked him on the road at Baina, Vasco; according to Vasco Police, the boy’s mother, was returning home on her scooter around 9.30 pm when the dog allegedly came out of the compound and chased her. She stopped after spotting her son walking along the road, following which the dog reportedly ran towards him, jumped on him from behind and bit him.  •  Bicholim Police arrests Savalo Korgaonkar, r/o Deulwada, Dhargal, in connection with the alleged theft of around Rs 5,000 in cash and coins from the donation box of Shree Kalbhairav Temple at Saptakoteshwar Devasthan, Narve. The theft was allegedly committed on August 1 after the accused entered the temple premises and broke open the donation box. Police examined CCTV footage and identified Savalo as the accused.
